Mailbox Maintenance - Changing a Commercial Mailbox Lock
Video Transcript for: Mailbox Maintenance: Changing a Lock - - Florence Corporation
- Hi, I'm Tony with Florence Manufacturing.
- Today I'd like to demonstrate how to change the lock on your Florence mailbox.
- To change the lock on your Florence mailbox, you'll need two basic tools, a half-inch nut driver and a pair of channel locks.
- To begin, you'll need to contact the post office so a letter carrier can give you access to the mailbox.
- Once the letter carrier has let you in, simply pop the latch.
- Once the door is open, just locate the lock that you're needing to replace.
- I'm going to take my half-inch nut driver and remove the nut.
- Once the nut is off, simply open the door, remove the cam, which exposes the clip.
- After you remove the cam, close the gate.
- Next, simply take your channel locks, pull down on the clip, and the lock comes out.
- It's always a good idea to pull the key out of the lock to prevent breaking.
- I'll take the lock, insert it back in.
- Take the clip, using the channel locks, get underneath the clip, and squeeze up, and be sure to always use a new clip when installing a new lock.
- With the new lock and clip installed, you are now ready to install the cam.
- And note that the cam is square and should go on like so.
- Tighten the nut with your half-inch driver.
- With the cam in place, your lock is ready for use.
- If you need to order replacement locks, or if you need instructions, please contact your authorized Florence dealer.

Mailbox Maintenance - How to Touch Up a Commercial Mailbox
Video Transcript for: Mailbox Maintenance: Touch Up Paint - - Florence Corporation
- Hi, I'm Renee and I work at Florence Manufacturing and over time with use, your mailboxes get scratched and I'm going to show you how to touch them up.
- Before you want to touch up your area that's scratched, you want to clean it up with Simple Green.
- When you order touch up paint spray or touch up paint pen from your authorized Florence dealer, you want to shake it up for five minutes before use.
- After you shake it up for five minutes, you want to apply pressure on the tip on a flat surface and wait until the paint appears.
- After the tip is covered in paint, you can begin the process.
- Apply the paint in thin layers.
- When you first apply the paint, it may not look the same color but let it dry for a few minutes.
- That pretty much sums it up for touching up your mailboxes and if you need to order any touch up paint, just call your authorized Florence dealer.

Video Transcript for: Mailbox Maintenance: Changing a Door - - Florence Corporation
- I'm Kyle, I work at Florence Manufacturing, and today I'm going to show you how to change out a door.
- First off, you're going to open the airlock door, you're going to press up on this latch, it's going to open both of your gates, open it all the way, the arm is going to hold it open for you.
- You're going to grab a blue nut driver, it should be 3 eighths, you're going to loosen the top nut.
- Take it off.
- You're going to grab a pick to hit the rod out, lay it on the top of the rod, and tap it out.
- Once the rod is removed, make sure the door is unlocked, just pop it out.
- With the door out, grab your replacement door, put it in, lock it, open the gate back up, put the rod back in, go ahead and tap the rod back in, put the nut back on, start tightening it with your finger, then grab your nut driver and tighten it the rest of the way.
- With the door in place, close the gates, if you have any troubles, contact your dealer.
