The Diyel post light is engineered for two installation methods - choose whichever fits your setup:

1. Pole mount - fits over the top of a standard 3" outdoor lamp post. Ideal for driveway entrances, mailbox-post pairings, and garden entry posts.
2. Pier mount - base-mount the fixture flat on top of a pier, brick column, capped wall, or porch railing post. Ideal where you want a low-profile lantern without a tall post.

Important: the pole and pier base are not included. If you need a 3" pier-mount adapter, we recommend pairing this with a matching post-light pier adapter kit (available separately).

Installation (about 10 minutes)

1. Decide your mounting style (pole or pier) and attach the appropriate base/adapter.
2. Seat the lantern on top of the mount and secure with the included hardware.
3. Flip the power switch on the underside to "|" (on).
4. Allow one full day of direct sunlight charging before the first night of use.
5. After the first charge, the dusk-to-dawn sensor takes over automatically — no daily action needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work in winter? Yes. The solar panel charges in any direct daylight, including cold weather. On consecutive heavily overcast days, nightly run-time may be reduced.

Do I need a sunny location? Best results with 6+ hours of direct daylight on the panel. Partial shade still charges with reduced runtime.

Can I replace the bulb? Yes - this is one of the few solar post lights that uses a standard E26 bulb. The included 3000K warm white LED can be swapped years from now without replacing the whole fixture.

Will it fit my post? The pole mount is designed for standard 3" outdoor lamp posts. For pier or column mounting, a separate base adapter is recommended.
